Beatriz Ramos, during my two years as an AmeriCorps member with First 5, I was given the opportunity to work at a Family Resource Center in the Franklin McKinley area. The FM area grew a special place in my heart and I knew that I wanted to join an organization that would allow me to continue to work within this community. Two years ago I accepted a position at the Silicon Valley Education Foundation as a Family Partner because I agreed with SVEF core values and mission of providing all children the opportunity to become successful academically and to thrive emotionally. Currently I am the Program Coordinator for the FM area and focus on delivering the FIRST 5 system of care to families, as well as work towards bringing teachers, business leaders and the community together to improve our local schools.
In my free time I enjoy volunteering in my daughter’s classroom, traveling around the world, and following the Chicago Bears through the NFL season. |
