Helen Dinh born and raised in the Bay Area, Helen ventured off to Southern California to earn her Bachelor of Arts degree in Literatures of the World with an emphasis in Spanish literature at the University of California, San Diego. Upon completing her undergraduate course work, she had the opportunity to be immersed in a new culture, and improve her Spanish skills while studying abroad at the Universidad de Granada in Southern Spain. She later earned a Technical Writing certificate that allowed her to intern at NASA Ames Research Center with the Technical Marketing Group, where she researched, wrote, and edited material that promoted the agency’s work. In her current role as a Family Partner with the San Jose Unified Collaborative in partnership with First 5, Helen works closely with the Latino community, connecting them to resources that positively impact their lives by strengthening the family unit, and emphasizing the importance of education. Thus far, her experience working at the foundation has truly opened up her heart to the needs of the community, and hopes to continue reaching out to more families. While away from work, Helen enjoys traveling, reading, spending time outdoors, swimming, and especially loves sharing good food with good company.
