Innovation and Transformation in Education: Is Technology the Answer?

The Silicon Valley Education Foundation (SVEF) will present this forum in conjunction with our partners at CISCO. This forum will focus on the issues underlying innovation in education. With students who are surrounded by technology throughout their daily lives (computers, internet, cell phones, iPods, personal digital assistants), is the use of technology the answer to engaging students? Why are schools and districts often slow to bring technology use into the classroom, and is there evidence that technology can actually increase student achievement? The discussion will also move into the realm of the business community and opportunities for partnerships with the education system to overcome some of these obstacles.

Rushton Hurley, Executive Director - Next Vista for Learning
