Mujeeb Ijaz moved to SV in 2014 to join Apple as Sr. Director in the Special Projects Group. Prior to joining Apple, Mujeeb was CTO of A123 based in SE Michigan where he founded A123’s Automotive lithium-ion battery business in 2008 launching batteries for GM, Mercedes, Volvo, BMW, Fisker, and other global OEMs over a 6 year period. Prior to A123, Mujeeb worked in Ford Motor Company’s electric vehicle and hydrogen fuel cell projects over a 16 year period where he led Ford’s entry into lithium ion technology while doing some fun things like setting a land speed record with a Ford Fusion Hydrogen Fuel Cell vehicle in 2006. Mujeeb has a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering and holds 27 U.S. Patents on energy storage related technologies. Together, Mujeeb and Sabiha have been married for 26 years and are the proud parents of three young adults who are finding their way to the sunny SV for post-graduate opportunities.
