The [Computer Science] Innovate program ([CS]I) was established in 2019 to introduce the basics of computer sciences to the San Mateo and Santa Clara County school districts—communities that are furthest from such opportunities.

The [CS]I program is offered to students identified by participating school districts. We invite 6th–10th grade students who are selected to enroll in our Summer 2024 [CS]I Program. [CS]I classes typically start in mid-June and run through mid-July with each district having its respective program dates, times, and locations.
6th - 8th GRADE CURRICULUM

Utilizes Micro:bit for the seamless integration of programming and physical computing.

Centered on the four pillars of computational thinking: algorithm, decomposition, patterns, and abstraction.

Digital resources and individually packed students material kits for distance learning.

9th - 10th GRADE CURRICULUM

Engages students in comprehensive Python programming, offering a robust understanding of fundamental concepts and real-world applications.

Incorporates hands-on learning with Circuit Playground Express (CPX), enabling students to connect programming skills with physical computing and Internet of Things (IoT).

Includes integrated modules from Cisco Networking Academy, allowing students the opportunity to earn a Cisco Academy Digital Badge.

WELLS FARGO CHANGE THE FUTURE GRANT
Wells Fargo and SV[e]F have partnered together to offer mid-size grants to schools with 50% or above free and/or reduced lunch in Santa Clara County. Schools can apply for up to $5000 to start or continue a computer science program in their school.
