“Startup Weekend is a 54 hour event that brings together Mountain View designers, developers, entrepreneurs, and experts from all domains to do amazing things. All Startup Weekend events follow the same basic model: anyone is welcome to pitch their startup idea and receive feedback from their peers. Teams form around the top ideas (as determined by popular vote) and embark on a three-day frenzy of business model creation, coding, designing, and market validation. The weekend culminates with presentations in front of local entrepreneurial leaders with another opportunity for critical feedback!” (Read more about Startup Weekend Mountain View here.)
For this year’s competition, the Mountain View Voice published an article, featuring two 49ers STEM Leadership Institute (SLI) students:
“The annual, fast-paced three-day event is designed to get middle school-aged kids excited about entrepreneurship and new inventions. Nithila and Sriya [SLI students] were part of team MyLine, which eventually won the weekend-long event for their new app, which is designed to reduce wait times at school lunch lines.” (Kevin Forestieri/Mountain View Voice)
