The 2018/19 general application for current 6th graders is closed

Process

All students who apply and are accepted during their 6th grade year will begin the program in 7th grade. Student cohorts will enroll full-time at Cabrillo Middle School for the 7th and 8th grades and will continue with their cohort at Santa Clara High School for 9th through 12th grades. Transportation assistance available.

The online application (strongly preferred) opens on November 14, 2018 and closes December 12, 2018 at www.49ersSLI.com. Families who are unable to submit the application online may also submit a paper application to the Cabrillo Middle School main office no later than 3:30pm on December 12, 2018.

11/28/18 & 11/29/18, 6-7pm: Information Sessions at Cabrillo Middle School Lab
12/12/18: Application closes
1/17/19 – 1/18/19: Semi-finalists invited to interview
1/22/19 – 1/25/19: Semi-finalist interviews
2/6/19: Accepted students notified
2/13/19: Accepted students commit to program

Who Qualifies?

  • Current 6th graders who live within the geographic area of Santa Clara Unified School District (Older students may apply in February only if a space becomes available. See the FAQ page for more information.)
  • Students with a strong academic record (overall GPA of 3.0 or higher, strong math and science achievement in 6th grade and readiness for Algebra in 7th grade)
  • Students willing and able to commit to the 6-year program from 7th through 12th grade.

All information sessions will cover the same material and are offered on multiple evenings for your scheduling convenience

4/10/19: Accepted students notified
4/10/19: Virtual Commitment Meeting

  • Students willing and able to commit to the remainder of 6-year program through 12th grade.
